ahhhh! that's what it is!
I saw one of those being used the other day - thing is, can't see how they are legal over here. To be classed as a bike they have to be less
than 250w and rely on pedals being turned for power to feed, which this clearly doesn't, but to be classed as a "vehicle" it
needs... well shed loads of stuff! Electric scooters are definitely illegal on the roads and I fear it would be difficult to describe this as anything
else.

If you use it with your inline skates or whatever then it's only got 1 wheel - is there a law restricting powered unicycles?

I went through alot of the legal stuff for things like these when i got done for using my goped on the road.
1 way for it to be Illegal, would be for it to be seen in 'laymans' terms as a motor vehicle, which for something like that I
reckon you would have a struggle to get a court to side that it isnt. And obviusly its not got wheel arches, lights, and the millions of other things
needed to create a legal motor vehicle, which means its sits the limbo area where Gopeds end up. (not legal for road use, and virtually impossible to
modify to be legal)
There are other governing laws such as motorbilty scooters and electric bikes but as stated before, bikes can be used if they have an alternative form
of manual prepulsion (not nessarily pedals) and also falls under laws governing 2, 3, and 4 wheel electric vehciles, so being 1 wheel its into another
grey area.
Mobility vehciles are in a clasification of there own. (dont even get me started on my hatred for them!) But there are pockets of info on the web
about them being under scutiny at the moment.
I reckon a court would struggle to prosecute you at this time with the lack of legal presidence or case law. Depends how you view it, if there is no
direct legislation against it, is it for them to prove its ilegal, or yout to prove it is legal!?

If I can find it again later I'll put up the release from one of the norths police force on this issue - it boiled down to if it was capable of
propelling you without any human input, it was considered a vehicle. There were changes brought about due to the amount of electric and petrol
scooters / gopeds (as you obviously discovered! ) and other personal vehicles.

I tried to argue the alternative prepulsion thing ( a simple quick realese lever and the goped becomes a scooter (simply carrying a motor)) However i
didnt have the funds to take on a full on legal battle to the highcourt!
