stainless welding costs

hi all,

i have recently purchased an innavate lc-1 lambda kit and now need the exhaust drilling and the sensor mount welding in to the exhaust, is there anyone on her close to coventry that can do that? if not how much should i expect to pay for the work to be done

It shouldn't cost more than a couple of quid in someones back pocket to get it done if you have the exhaust, and boss ready to go in. its only a 10 min job. unfortunately i am a lil' bit too far away

should i pre-drill it before i take it to someone, custon chrome are in nuneaton, only 15 minutes away

Hi if custom chrome are only 15 min away thats should be good. Failing that if you want to bring it to Birmingham a bit of a trek. i will sort it for you.

Just be sure when the hole is drilled it is bigger than the 18mm thread to allow better readings to be taken if using a rolling road for the AFR setting. A common mistake made by many is to drill too small a hole.

hi matt,

the sensor came with a threaded mounting piece that needs to be welded into the exhaust, so should i just cut the hole to the same diameter as that.

Hi as long as you can see clean through the threaded boss without the pipe restricting the view to the internal of the pipe it will be fine. Ie a 19mm hole.
