Any tips with fibreglass?
Off-topic but decided the sound system in the BMW is craaap and want to refit my subwoofer from my old car but don't want to compromise space so
am building a smaller box that will fit with the contour of the boot. The front and most of the sides will be MDF but am using fibreglass for the
rest. I haven't used the stuff since college some 4yrs ago so any pointers?
The box is only going to fit into that corner but I went a bit ott with the masking tape and the bin liners are just in case a spill anything.

Yes, the resin makes you sick. Wear a mask. And measure the amount of hardener or you will be waiting months for it to cure.

use brown packing tape over the masking tape. resin doesn't stick to it.
cover EVERYTHING else. resin WILL stick to it

If it's a big job and you're using resin make sure you've got good ventilation. The fumes are pretty noxious and nuke your sperm
count (amongst other things)....

It can be fairly 'runny' and will gently run off your protected bit and onto the boot carpet - it's the law.

Have you thought about using one of those slim powered subs, I've fitted one in the rear side pocket on my BMW, completely hidden and sounds
great.
If you're not living life on the edge you're taking up too much room.
