Question for the motorbike experts
A girl at work is looking for a sports bike, but has a problem in that all the ones she's looked at are all rather too tall and she
doesn't fit.
Looking at a seat height of 70cm (or lower) and wants something like a Kawasaki Ninja 250R but can't find one in the Cambridge area to try.
So any suggestions on suitable bikes or decent dealers in the Cambridge area who don't smirk too much and are prepared to make sensible
suggestions.
p.s. she really doesn't want a tourer or a moped
Somewhere that sells XXS/special fitting leathers will be sure to be a follow up question

Any scooter or cruiser type should be fine for one short of leg(me included)
Best bike imo is an nc30 which are tiny and also happen to be one of the best , easiest to handle and smallest bikes in the world.
Absolutely tons out there too.
Scott/hideout/manx will do made to measure suits for anyone(at a price), or, if a scooter just a textile suit from the bike shop will easilly do which
are sized for kids too so should be fine. She prob has to buy boys jeans so will be used to this..
Hope this helps her.

Aye, but she has her heart set on a proper sports bike.

cbr400rr, vrf400r, n30, nc35, zx4r, gsxr400.
if none of them are new enough then she can go down the lowering route, I know for a fact you can buy lowering kits for the sv650s - which would be a
good first bike, or she could try a number of 600's with the seat padding reduced - cbr600f for example.

Ducati 748 is 790mm, which is 9cm more than required, but worth a look. I had one with an 853 conversion, awesome, but at 6'4" it was way
too small for me.

lowerimg kit?
locost way is to let air out of the tyres!!
it's not gonna be easy - bike manufacturers will make model to fit the average person, usually male.
anyone who is overly tall or overly short is gonna struggle.

CBR400RR is one one the lowest bikes i've sat on.
The wive even road it a few years back on a London to Brighton Bike day
She's seemed to even reach the floor on a ZZR1100 just don't drop it.

Agreed - any 250/400 should be fine for her..
If you hunt, you may be able find...
CBR250 - 19k rpm screamer!!!
ZZR250 - looks just like it's big brother
Or just try her on a virago...you never know!
