Crash on A64 between Tadcaster and York yesterday

Does anybody from Yorkshire know of what happened yesterday on the A64 Eastbound between Tadcaster and York (iirc)

I was driving that way back from Driffield and there was an awful crash on the opposite side.

A sprinter van had somehow wrapped completely round a tree and it looked pretty horrendous from what I could see.

Just wanted to hear either good or bad news as its etched into my brain a bit at the moment.

Would have thought there would be some new somewhere on it as the traffic was stationary for miles, but can't see anything.

Sorry to hear about the A1 crash, but I am relieved to hear about the A64 crash.

I was following my girlfriend in her Focus, she had driven me to fetch my latest budget banger from Driffield, and the weather was atrocious, and I was really worried as people were generally driving like idiots in the awful conditions.

Seeing that crash only made me more worried, and to say the van was mangled was a huge understatement.

Basically the cab was inside-out, the seats were through the windscreen aperture, such was the distortion to the rear of the van, and from the article it sounds like the driver was ejected, which must have been a good thing.

It would have been a hiab and grab recovery job, that's for certain

oohh, nasty.

Sorry to see that, prob never saw it coming. Got to question police tactics, but then that's always the way I suppose, easy afterwards.
