Volvo V40 T4 any good??
I am looking at buying a replacement car for the wife as her cavalier has died.
Always fancied a V40 T4 but before I go looking seriously anybody know whether they are good or bad. She only does 5-6k per year but needs something
reliable and not a money pit.
Else it will be Astra or Focus.

ps. anyone want a 1994 2.5 V6 cavalier with a blown headgasket and in need of a priest.

I had one as a company car from 2000 to 2003. One of the best cars I've ever had !
Reliable and didn't cost a fortune to run / repair, but remember I had it from zero miles to about 100,000.
I would avoid a high miler and defo get a full history with it. Mine sounded very ill when we sold it

Thanks for the info. I am looking at a couple, one with 63k on the clock the other with 70k. They seem pretty good value for money for the spec.
The car is for the missus and she needs something practical (small estate) and brisk. Well the brisk is for me when I am driving

As with any turbo'd car you need to make sure you see them started from cold, preferably having stood overnight.
Any oil smoke on start-up walk away.
I've had turbos last 150k whilst others have gone at less than 80k.
Replacements will set you back £500+ fitting so be careful.
Cheers, Pewe
