Ride Height/Clearance etc.

I'm probably going to ask some fairly numpty questions here, so please bear with me; just coming back to the build after almost six months lay-off.

When "Ride height" is referred to, where is it being measured from, front & rear? Is it from the bottom of the chassis rail to the ground?

"Ground clearance", is obviously from the lowest point (engine sump?) to ground.

I have a Pinto powered Indy with an RS2000 alloy sump. Present "ground clearance"is 95 mm. This is giving me a clearance from the chassis, at the front, of 150 mm and at the rear 175 mm.

I've seen "ride height" figures of 110 mm. (front) and 130 mm. (rear) quoted on the forum.

Should I:
1. Consider adding some form of spacer between the engine mounting blocks and the chassis to raise the engine overall?

2. Fit a slightly shallower sump (I've got a chopped Pinto sump of uncertain parentage)?

3. Source another "standard" Pinto sump and get MK to modify it?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
