Choosing an imobiliser

I figure that whilst I am rewiring my classic TVR I might as well fit some kind of immobiliser...

The car has very basic points ignition so it wouldnt take much for a thief in the know to pop the bonnet open and wire up the car so it will start..

However, atleast as a deterant (And to help the insurance cost)

I want to fit an imobiliser..

Are there any units that can be DIY installed (Perhaps with built in alarm units) that are recognized by insurance companies?

I am going to get a steering wheel lock which is a much better deterant, but if I can find a relativley cheap imobiliser is it worth fitting one?

afaik, no diy install alarms are recognised by insurance companies.

you're much better off with a disklock imho. it stops the vast majority of thieves even thinking about nicking it.

Taken from a Mazda RX7 and fitted by the factory (me). Has two point imobilisation ( fuel & spark & Megajolt.)
