Capri G/box parts
Have already trawled thru the'Net, but without success.
I'm looking for a replacement gear lever retaining ring, for a Capri 4-speed g/box. This is denoted as a Type 3 g/box, on the Burton-Power web
site, although Haynes refers to it as a Type C. The gear lever is retained in place by a screw-on nylon cup, with integrated tab-washer.
Irritatingly, I remember sighting a pic of this precise item, but didn't follow it up, because it was a US site. Which I cannot now find.
So, other than splashing out on a Rally Design quickshift, is there anywhere else where Capri gearbox spares can be obtained?
Yes, I've tried a local Ford parts counter (the reply, accompanied by ironic laughter, was - "You'll be lucky, mate!!".

Have a look on this forum:
http://www.fordcapriforum.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=13
I'm sure someone on there will either have one or be able to point you in the right direction.
they are a great bunch of guys and I was a member for many years when I owned my Capri. (In fact I only sold it to make room for the locost project)
Give me a mention I'm sure they'll remember me.
Aside from that you could try GMS capri spares or Speed Shack.
All the best,
Sam
