OBD2 USB Help *Fixed* Now code P1349

Anyone bought one of these and got it to work.

I think I've tried all th COM ports, re-installing the software each time because it's quicker than re-booting th laptop, though seems just as effective.
The closest I've got is on COM 5 and it all seems to work but doe'snt seem to want to connect to the car.

I,ve not got one of those but do have a CAN bus USB interface that only seems to work with the engine off... so not a lot of point !@ aargh

If I do not connect to the interface to the car the laptop finds the CAN box, when you make the final connection into the ODB port it loses comms to the can and comes up with unidentified device.

If yours is like this then maybe its getting interference from the car so try soldering 2 x 240ohm resistors at across the wires at each end of the lead and see if that helps.

Anyway that aside com port 5 seems a little low, if you plug in and go to hardware wizard see if anything 'unknown' appears with the USB stuff, mine comes up on port 11.

Regards Mark

I was just about to buy one of these, perhaps I will hold off and wait and see

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Thanks for the suggestions.
The Digi dash software would not work either, so I started all over again, but this time sat with it in my Saab, set it all up to COM7 and off it went!! Read sensors but no error codes on the SAAB.

Took it accross and plug into SWIMBO's Toyota Yaris and BINGO! working on that now too.
So don't know what was wrong , but it would not set up on the Yaris which is where I was trying it previously, but it;'s working now.

Just need to try and find what P1349 means in real money

Yes I'm sure it is.
Have cleaned both sensors and connectors, have also replace the oil controll valve as I managed to get one off the bay for £10.

My concern now is that I may have to open the engine up and look at the VVTi controller on the end of the cam

Don't really want to replace ECU, as I doubt it's that, as the fault is intermittent anyway, few days at a time with engine light on/off.

Any suggestions welcome
