Removing sierra servo.....can it be done?
Im toying with the idea of removing the servo from my car...Its going to get destroyed by the heat from the exhausts anyway....plus I can lock up all
four wheels without even trying
It uses the sierra pedal box complete with master Cyl. and servo...
Is it possible to remove the servo and keep the standard Master Cyl?
And, will the standard Master Cyl be able to cope with no servo?....

Yes, and Yes
You'll have to modify the pedal / pushrod arrangement.
Simplest would probably be to disconnect the vacuum pipe from inlet manifold to the servo, blocking up the manifold connector

Make sure if you go that way you reconnect it before MOT as it's a failure for the servo not to work. May? affect your insurance if you drive
with servo disabled?

The master cylinder works fine without the servo. I ended up making a new pedal box using the Sierra pedals and pivot so I can't remember what
is required to mount the master cylinder to the sierra metalwork, its only 3 holes so you could always weld a plate onto the existing pedal box.

I dumped my servo as i ran out of room, brakes work fine without it (less weight than the original sierra) you will need to make a new pushrod
though.

If you don't want to make a pushrod, Tiger do them. But try driving the car with the servo disconnected first to see if you can cope without, I
decided I couldn't.

Why not just make up a heat shield for the servo, why remove something that works fine, for something that's not so good and end up with two
feet braking. Just my opinion, for what it's worth. Cheers Ray
To make a car go faster, just add lightness. Colin Chapman - OR - fit a bigger engine. Chippy
