Where to buy a used car
My girlfriend really wants a automatic nissan micra (the old shape, the one that looks like a pear drop/mad hippo) She's tried some places like
autotrader & other online places but every ad she's phoned have said "it was sold a couple of weeks ago" Are there any big used
car places that would sell them in the east midlands area? or where would you look?

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Automatic Micra K11 --- good ones are gold dust Beware the CVT transmision I have heard one failure at 3,000 miles though in normal
little old lady use 30,00 to 50,00 seems more typical although I know of one that went over 100K miles.
With the new model in 2003 they discontinued using the CVT switching to a conventional JATCO automatic --- you have to ask why ?
Mackie Transmissions in Glasgow is the Uk expert in these transmisions they overhaul boxes for Nissan UK
As for non-auto K11 Micras always loads of nice ones at auction cheap the trade don't like them because they nearly all K11s have a problem
with the throttlebody that causes stalling and can be very expensive to fix if you use official Nissan parts --- actually it can be fixed in half an
hour with a soldering iron.

Make sure you check the front cross-member. They rot at the ends below the rad. Apart from that you can't go far wrong.
