Lies, damned lies and statistics

There's a good series of articles on the BBC website about the scaremongering use of statistics by the media. I know it's fairly obvious that you can twist statistics to say virtually anything you want, but it's interesting to see exactly how reporters tend to mangle them. It's an interesting read even if you know your way around statistics in the first place.

Now you are better armed to make your own mind up on just how boned the country is

I believe the wording was "read". Looking at pictures of said garage work is a whole other story. And his drive home might not be that dull either actually - particularly in summer.
