What car ?
Mrs currently drives a focus diesel, its been 100% trouble free for almost 3 years and a great car but soon time for it to move on.........
So what next, another focus is not on the cards as her business as grown and she needs something a little bigger, currently top of a list that we have
not put much thought into yet is a Mondeo diesel estate........good choice, bad choice ? Suggestions ?
The mondeo would be about the largest she would go for, diesel pretty much a must, most likely an estate, will be looking at cars around 3 years old,
high milers with one company owner type of thing ?

injector and pump issues can start at 100k mark . a good one should have a rock steady idle and no smoke when you rev it to the limiter .good drive
and mechanically no real issues ,front springs break with alarming regularity .

My 3 yr old Passat is about to go back and boy am I glad its been nothing but trouble. 4-5 recalls and electrical faults too, which is a shame as I
was under the impression VW's were good.
Would appear not in all cases
Also its not just my car when the fuel pump went there were 40 in the garage before me waiting to be done and the biggest problem is that each pump is
for a certain car so a long wait for the Germans to sort them all out. 4-6 weeks without the car

I quite like the Saab 9-3 estate. Haven't got one mind but like the look of them. Just another option to consider

Not any more!! My last Sharan was a 'one thing after another' jobby!
Needed a new auto gearbox after 58,000 miles and it was a known fault but would VW cough up..would they heck.
So what did we trade it in for..... Yep another Sharan!!
Mind you it's been bloody good so far touch wood!

Does she need estate? Hatch is surprisinglybig with seats down.
Love my 320D tourer. Only downer is that load space is not that big when seats are up. Getting 60mpg on a run.
What about keep focus and get her a towbar and trailor? Top box??

Focus already as a tow bar and she as a little tow a van type trailer.
The estate is for those times when its not worth having the trailer in tow but a bit to much for the back.
I here the seats down bit its just the hassle of moving kids seat too.
I can strongly recommend the focus though as an all round car, drives superb and aside from two rear wheel bearings (which I'm told is standard
on these) not a penny spent on it.
VW had been on the list but my experience with the latest T5 vans is in line with comments above, the quality is not what it once was.

5 series Beemer, love my 3ltr diesel, wouldn't swap it for anything - except the new 535 diesel
