honda gx160 kart engine question

Hi has anyone had any dealings with the above engine wondered if it is possible to removed internal govenor and regulate revs with carb throttle stop

If you contact Rodger Sheffield at Formula 6 Association ( Google ) he may be able to help you, or turn up at one of their meetings. We raced in the modified class with 160's using 2 stroke carbs and all sorts of mods. I can't remember how to delimit these but you can rev the nuts off them once done. Ours did once and threw the rod and left a nice slippery racing line for every body!

Yes you can remove the govener, I removed the choke plate and opened up the carb bore (very carefully) as well. Bit of a pig to start but you get more air through, also drilled the main jet to .8mm.
