Finally got round to washing the new car and taking some lng overdue photos.

Next job on the list is to stop the water leaks around the door seals and rear opening window seals.

I can keep fish in it after a heavy downpour!

F reg 1.6 shell with a 1.9 in it.
Lowered all round
Sticky tyres

buckets and a harness.

Im of the age where i could not drive when these cars first came out, then when i could drive i always wanted one but could never affors one and certainly could not have insured it!

Many years went by without me giving it them a thught then i had a hankering for one again when i sold my GTS last year but needed the oney fromt he kit to do other stuff.

I bided my time and came by good one at not a lot of money at all.

Nice,

Hmm ive always been the same with the Rs turbo.

Only thing now is most are rotten.

Found myself trying to value the bits of 7 last week to see if they would stretch to a nice-ish one

I'm the same with the 205 - when I was a little kid (must hve been maybe 5 or 6) the ad was on TV where the white GTi was chased by the helicopter.

Always thought they were cool since then but never went for one for the same reasons.

I'd really like to find an original unmodded 1.9 in white. Not that I wouldn't mod it myself, but I don't want to have to deal with the firkups and bodges made by the max power numpty lot.

Not that I know anything of course, but Ive read in the last few days that that low fixing for your harness may not be the right place, there perhaps should be a bar higher up in the cage to take them (I think it was somewhere on Pistonheads last thursday, a guy doing his car up with cage and all). Nice motor ayway.
