Almost as fast as the Doune video.....

...... but over a four minute plus lap

This is a guy I race Superlights/Drakarts with, Colin or 'Mad Dog' as he is known and this is Teffi (Bont) stages in mid Wales. He has the lap record in both direction as its run anti clockwise and clockwise. This lap in the video is 6 seconds off his best. The nearest car to this time, is a full on WRC car with I understand an 'experienced' driver and is over 30 seconds slower.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy?

Magnificent. Much respect to that man. He is either very brave, deranged or both.

Whereabouts is that? It looks very much like Epynt.

One was standing on the wall - at a very likely contact point!!!

Excellent bit of footage - wonder why they call him "mad dog"

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

mm interesting!

Don't know much about drakarts but just had a look at some and they are basically autograss specials but with tiny engines.

The autograssers are running the same type of chassis but wider and with TWO big bore tuned hayabusa engines in the back

Imagine one of them round there!!!

PS I have heard of another 600cc formula called NORA Superlights, are the drakarts at all similar?

Its open to all comers so bring your twin Hyabussa Class 8 specials down and see if you can match Colin's time. The next time you can run at Bont is 25th October.

The engine I have in mine is the same as Mad Dog, 919 blade.

Drakarts and Superlights are one and the same. We have two classes. Upto 650cc which are mainly two stroke machines and upto 920cc which are mainly blades with the odd ZX9R.

If you want to race against the Superlights/Drakarts then there is a Grass Track event where we are turning up at Blyton on I think the 16th Nov. Bring your car down and see how you get on

Yea, I've seen that one its run over the last few years, have you raced there before??

NOT saying I or anybody else would beat maddog!!!!!! That's driver not car!!!!! LOL my bottle won't last that one!!!

I don't currently have a working grasser, as my twin mille engine fiat 126 is still work in progress due to building the kadett for my mate, and I broke my old class 9 for spares.

IIRC the grassers beat the NORAS at blyton previously BUT I do recall that they competed directly, despite the bigger power of the grassers. main issue is in autograss the chassis all has to be 2.5mm wall steel tubing.

Yes, round twice per timed session.

You get 6 runs in the morning clockwise then six in the afternoon anti clockwise. Times for all runs are added together, winner is the shortest aggregated time.

I'm racing at Blyton this coming weekend and plan to race at Blyton on the 16th November with the Grass track boys as well. #27 if anyone is there and wants to say hello!

That why your cars will weigh a good bit more than the Superlights. Our regs mean that the cars have to weigh under 350kgs.

I am not sure that I heard the same story's as you and that despite multiple bike engines in the grassers, even the two stroke Superlights were giving them a good race.

Ill see first hand next month!
