Ouch! But serves him right!

Before: http://members.ij.net/gg/E46_M3_VS_Eclipse_GSX.wmv

and after: http://sys12.cs.jmu.edu/hawleycj/vids/aftermath-low.WMV

Methinks he may be needing a new engine...

Yeah, at first I though he'd spooned it and driven into a ditch or something.
My friend who just bought a project Pulsar (Sunny) GTi-R which had a similar incident, sent the urls.

Look at the size of that lump of broken block! Guess that's what happens when you put a piston through it!

Gotta feel a bit sorry for the guy though- it was his Dad's!

I know what that feels like...Dropped a rod through the side of a kent block whilst raceing a Golf GTI and letting rip with the revs. Oil everywhere and and knocking followed by locked up rear....... Oh sugar... Good thing Kent were cheap as chips and plentyful in those days in Surf Efrika

I think if it had been me the language would have been a tad more colourful.
Still.. they spanked that horribly coloured M3... for a bit.

Seems kinda reasonable time - took me about 4mins (for them both!)

To be honest - I don't think the M3 was even trying... the gsx has only 210bhp. Please...

I don't even like BMW's but in it's defence...

All IMHO of course

Besides he was a smug git!!!

Silly boy, boucing it off the limiter probably didnt help him.

Also he needs to cut his finger nail on his little finger!

That engine looked like the 2l DOHC lump in my donor sierra, had 2 big holes either side of the lump, according to the previous owner his brother inlaw hadnt kept the oil topped up! hmm.....

i was gonna say that bouncing off the limiter wont have helped his cause...

bloody kids and cameras eh...

have to say, i love M3s. Wouldnt buy one, but that SMG gearbox is awesome. Changes gear smoothish even when the throttle is floored, with a choice of paddle or lever. Drove a mates the other week!!

it seems a bit contrived to me.

if his dad was 'gonna kill him'

why did he then take his dads engine apart when it was so obvious the block was shagged....

and most of the vid seemed to be the inside of the door.

Well, I think the 'slow' M3 won that round!

Honestly, that kid didnt pay for the car, nor the upgrades (probly). He deserves a beating after treating a car like that.

I guess he answered his own qeustion though, the tranny held fine!
