Pre SVA Kit
Looked at Jaguar based kit car over weekend, its been on Sorn for number of years(no MOT) but was built pre SVA. On reg doc as XJ6.
Are there too many hurdles to jump !! Will it need SVA ? can it be MOT when obviously not a XJ6
Emailed VOSA and DVLA and awaiting their reply.

Is there any evidence it was on the road pre-SVA?
Talk to zilspeed I think he managed to get a car in the same position legalised, though as with all DVLA interactions randomness in decision making
may apply.

doubt it would get away with it since it's not using a jag chassis (how could it ) after all
whats the kit anyway??

If it was on the road pre-SVA introduction (1998) it is possible if you have proof of that to make them legal. There was an amnesty period years ago
where it was just a matter of sending off the forms, but that's long gone.
Nothing to do with the chassis BTW if it was on the road in the good old/bad old days when you just needed an MOT to get road legal. Though would be
if you built one now.
Here's what you need to do to make it legal as far as the DVLA are concerned.
