will need to get back to you about the EDIS but you need the multi-way plug that fits into it, the crank posion sensor with loom and the coil pack, with its loom.

the coil pack sits on a bracket attached to the cylinder head.

You may find that there is no edis on your mondeo, i've only found them on old escorts/fiestas and a scorpio.

I had a look at some mondeos being broken and the edis was integrated in the ECU box.

There is a list of cars on here somewhere i'll see if i can dig it up.

you need this lot: (what they said above ^^^)

I got all mine from a k reg escort 1.3 for £25 - I even managed not to cut any of the wires that join these bits together (but that took an extra hour seperating out the loom in the scrapyard in the freezing cold - that wasn't much fun )

most cars from 95 onwards seemed to use the ECU instead of the EDIS (but you can still get the coilpack and VR sensor and there plugs from later models)

That'll be why I couldnt find it then.
OK to rephrase the question which motors use an Edis and whereabouts are they in the engine bay.
Cheers guys.

as above, best bets are escorts and fiesta, late 80's to mid 90's, 1.3 OHV and 1.6 CVH engines

they are on others too, they are normally on the inner wing - just follow the wires from the coilpack - it'll say EDIS4 on the side of the bit the plug goes into

and watch out for the similar looking thing that has a vacume hose going into it (fitted instead of EDIS on some models)

If you do a search on my name there has been a few posted in the last week or so.

Automatic mk1 Mondeos have the edis.

And if you cant find one, I can do you one with plug for £10 posted.

The reason you can't find the edis is that there isn't any left!

They're are all in Big Wasa's garage

Rich
