storage heaters

is there a reason why my storage heaters only get warm, where they used to get hot enough to burn your bum on, the heat is even over the whole heater so the elements are all working. just wondering if theres a thermostat that dies or anything stopping them from fully charging. do the elements go weak etc etc.

there normally is a thermastat on the top of them this could go faulty.

With regards to the elements these i have had to change a few of.

What happens if they are cracked is they heat up which in turn opens the crack which basically turns them off then cool down and they start again and the process carrys on.

very hard to test as you cant really do it when they are warm.

if you want to replace the elements wait till the heater is completly cold. the bricks also way a ton, put a dust sheet down infront of the heater.

worth checking the stat first though and the timing if on economy 7 setting.

We have 1 storage heater in the basement. It has 3 thermostats, heat in and heat out on the top plus another at the bottom. You could check that they're all set right.
