nope, looks like a rwd, flip front, with small doors and a high sill, possibly roofless. Can't have been heavy going by the rear shocker.

I do recognise it but cant think where its from. Sorry

Possibly a "cheap" cobra chassis?
They tend to use the "ladder" or "backbone" type chassis.

dude the engines in the back

Not a Locust is it?

It's mid or rear engined (IMHO)

Have a look at the rear hub, it's got a hole in it for a driveshaft. Added to the big square space behind the seats / between the rear hubs.

So possibly a Lambo / Ferrari / Porsche replica?

Looks a bit like an alternative to a VW floorpan to me - think there was one called the alfachassis using a Sud engine and I'm sure there were other too.

Looks like the old Deon "DIno" chassis

How can you tell? There is a space both ends?
Using a diff and driveshafts is also possible for those uprights.
Why a trans tunnel if it is rear engined?

ettore bugatti - 18/9/08 at 01:27 PM

Aren't the wheels from a Volvo 340?

It is midengined, I think since I see something of a radiator at the right side in the picture.
Could be a Stratos replica with a transvere engine.
An V8 or V12 wouldn't fit lengthwise in the compartment in the left side.

Huh? where? Hanging in front of the front axle - uuugghhhh! And where does the gearbox go? Definately a middy. Look the gear lever is there in the middle of the tunnel/backbone (which is there just for structural reasons i'd say) almost certainly cable/rod operating the box in the back.

At a push it's front engined/rear transaxle. Someone reckons they're volvo wheels - 340 donor maybe (that's a transaxle)?

From what I can see the wheelbase is around 230cm (+/- 10cm)

So Lancia Stratos or Ferrari Dino replica?

Just junk the chassis and use all the suspension bits; will save a lot of time.
