Starter For Ten - Side Panels

Whats the best way to fit the side panels. Previous Owner used Silicon but it was everywhere and uneven, so I've removed the panels and want to refit. Just as well I did as they peeled away easily. Whats the neatest and most secure way. All opinions welcomed.

PU Adhesive and rivets in strategic locations. Have a look at our website

I did as Hellfire, there is no way I could get it off without cutting it up. My nearside I had to be able to remove it as I cannot get the exhaust manifold off thru the engine bay without taking the engine out, just used some hex head self tappers and the rear arch/scuttle/nosecone fixings do the rest. Both methods work fine.

...OK so the side panels fit snugly on the top rails - what about the bottom?

Part of the return is under the floor rivets and there's about half an inch gap at the front.

I'm thinking of neoprene strip with cutouts to run under the floor panel. Not sure about the front half, possibly Rivnuts and individual spacers...? Or do you just pop rivet and let the panel bend?

What's the usual practice?

Strategically placed rivets?? Rear Wheel Cutouts and just underneath then. Is that all??

Yep, thats all. Don't forget the scuttle is bolted down through the side panel and also the nose cone too.

Ours is not even rivetted on the underside return of the side panel
