mk, nothing on that looks westfield to me (unless arches but think they are mk)
Just a non-SVA'd MK with Westfield v5c isn't it?
definately not a wetsy
quote:
Is a westfield but rebuilt in late 2004 using MK chassis and plastics.
It was the mk demo car.
That is so much an MK that it is totally an MK
Sounds like Triggers brush. Had the same brush for years and still going strong... just had 6 new handles and 5 new heads!

Definatly not a Westy
No doubt about it's a MK
Are we sure it's not a Dutton!?
But surely MK didn't stick a Westfield ID on it ?
That didn't happen, right ?
id be surprised if they had a ringer as a factory car!
With MyCarCheck app on iphone that reg number brings up:-
Make WESTFIELD
Colour WHITE
Engine size 1600cc
Year 08/06/1989
So no its not a Dutton! Doesnt really clear anything up though does it.
It was in total kit car too with a 2.0 pinto and it was black then, sure that the first MK demo the red metalic one was a dutton.
I think that white one is on the dvd that complete kit car gave away.
Interesting to note the seller's additional comment recently added to the description
Still blatantly overlooking the fact the car is not registered correctly and hasn't been SVA'd. There's real potential here for a
buyer to get caught out with an illegal car on the road not to think about possible insurance implications
Does it matter who's chassis it is?
from DVLA:
quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vehicles that have been rebuilt using a mix of new or used parts
In order to retain the original registration mark:
•cars and car-derived vans must use:
The original unmodified chassis or unaltered bodyshell (i.e. body and chassis as one unit - monocoque); or a new chassis or monocoque bodyshell of the
same specification as the original supported by evidence from the dealer or manufacturer (e.g. receipt).
It's not a question of who made the chassis, it's a question of whehter or not it has had an SVA or IVA test. The only reason for using the registration from another car is to either commit fruad, or avoid the test.

I actually went to look at this car myself - it's not in bad fettle. He didn't say to me it was a Westy but that the engine had come out of
one and dropped in an MK as first owner didn't want to spend the money on another Westfield chassis.
I agreed a price with him then uncovered something that the seller failed to tell me which when confronted with he said he had forgotten to. 2 weeks
prior to me seeing the car, it had had an engine transplant. Typical Blackbird prob of No. 3 going pop. I therefore pulled out of the sale on the
grounds of misinformation.
Take a look on is ebay profile, the last item he bought is a 2002 Blackbird injection motor.
At no point did he outline what has been uncovered throughout this thread though i.e. the HPI check reporting it as a Westfield when it's clearly
an MK.
^^^
Sounds like you made a wise decision and avoided what could be a right PITA.
Hmmm!
Just checked the listing again and, as if by magic, it seems to have been removed from ebay

There is no such car as a Westfield MK Indy
and a Westfield it aint.
That's 100% MK.
Andy
New ad says the car is now sold!
Having contacted the seller via Ebay he was clearly aware of the issues with the car and blatantly chose to ignore them
It's not the black Mk demo because a mate of mine bought that 2years ago and it's in bits in his garage it's also a 2 litre pinto
Ebay add says car now sold. Gone to anyone on here? Didn't meet the reserve so wonder how much he let it go for?
