Hello,
The question I have is simple, does anyone have a drawing from Cortina wishbone's? I just bought a Pilgrim Cobra with Cortina front suspension
and the camber and caster between left and the right front wheels are different. The origional wishbones from the Cortina are mounted (read: not
adjustable).
Or does anyone know where I can order adjustable wishbones, Cortina design.
Thanks.
JP
Think Rally Design do them
Get a threaded plug and 1/2" rose joint and dislocation spacers from McGill's (I'm assuming its a 1/2" UNF bolt)
Cut the rear rubber bush off the wishbone, weld in the threaded plug and bolt up
Better still do front and back, both top and bottom, you now can twiddle to your hearts content, will cost ~£40.
I know people moan about the quality of the cheap joints, I just spray mine with WD40 before and after a run, not had a problem yet but then the car
is a lot lighter, you can get better quality joints from here as well which pushes the cost up.
Regards Mark
Mark - not quite sure I understand - any chance of piccie's
I take the full Cortina II-V subframes is used ?
Before doing major surgery check the subframe is sits horizontal and condition of subframe mounting bushes.
Also the top wishbone pivot bolt is prone to bending.
@Britishtrident:
Yes, subframe sits horizontal, mountingbushes are replaced. I didn't check the top wishbone pivot bolt. Will check this weekend.
@big-vee-twin
I will contact Rally Design if they deliver Cortina replacement wishbones.
If it's a Pilgrim Sumo it doesn't use the Cortina subframe. The upper and lower Cortina wishbones are attached directly to the Pilgrim chassis.
Hi,
The Pilgrim wishbone's are indeed directly attached to the Pilgrim chassis. I found on the Rallydesign wishbones that are suitable for the Locost
design. Is that the same as the Cortina design?
Anyone knows?
Thanks, JP
Nobody?
