CAD files

Taking some time assembling the spaceframe in solid works before going about actually building anything. Sure beats buying a ton of steel, cutting it up and finding that something wasn't right about your drawings
But I also realized that there are a couple of things I probably won't be able to do myself: the engine, gearbox, differential, steering rack, uprights etc. The spaceframe is easy, but all those things which will need to be sourced from donors... Where can I find CAD files for these parts?

I'm also toying with the idea of doing a monocoque chassis (not IRL but on the PC). Anyone done that before?

Take a look on my website under the files section and you will find a whole load of sierra parts zipped up to download, although they are AutoCAD files, i dont know if you can do anything with them.

Chris, what type of gearbox is that?

filename "transmis"

Guys

I got be honest i didnt draw these parts myself, i only drew the locost chassis. So im not entirely sure what it is, but i suspect it could be an escort one looking at it if it isnt a sierra one.

sorry if this has caused any confusion.

Chris

As long as the drawings are detailed enough, I should be able to make some 3D models. Thanks

I think the westfield FW400 is a monocoque as well.

Chris,

I'm fairly sure the box is a type 9, after comparing it to some pics I've got.

Cheers.

Ford Type 9 detailed drawaing:
type 9 blueprint

Does someone have a CAD or detailed drawing of the Rover V8?

Chris, can you pls recommend an Autocad guide? Have just acquired AutoCad 2004, which is very different from Acad R14. So I need some form of "how to" instruction.

BTW - Those CAD files were very interesting, particularly the g/box.
