fuel regulator connections

anyone know for certain what goes where? weber alpha regulator
cant find the info on the web, and have misplaced the bit of paper....
99% certain that the top connection is left open

A is vacuum inlet from intake manifold

B is fuel outlet

C is fuel inlet

thats backwards to what i have been told by someone else......

a is manifold/ open

but other sources tell me that b is from the fuel rail, and c is return to tank...

someone else must be using one?

Not the same regulator as yours - but I should think they all work in the same way ??

Definitely B is inlet, C is outlet.

connected it that way, and tried it after i had found the instructions....
happy days maybe first engine start this weekend

Looking at that diagram, it looks like it could work either way.

To me that diagram suggests if you got it the wrong way round you'd get a massive spike in pressure on start-up due to the smaller area of diaphragm visible to that port. I doubt that your fuel pump could overcome the force exerted by the control spring without 'seeing' the whole diaphragm. If it did actually open then it might continue to regulate as normal, but I think it would still struggle to hold itself open in reality.

in at the side, out at the bottom on all of the regs I've fitted. I've made this mistake before. If you put it in the bottom the pressure doesn't open the reg and you just stall the pump and blow hoses off.

I have the same regulator and

A. Manifold Vacuum or open to air
B. From fuel rail
C. Return to swirl pot (or tank return depending on how you are doing it)
