What do you do with 4 ducklings? They were in the pond this morning with Mrs Duck, came home and found them on the patio, took them back to the pond, went out, came home. They are back again! No sign of mum anywhere.

Call the RSPB, they'll tell you, do it quick though as they won't last long without Mum.....

feed em up ,then dinner yum yum , crispy roast duck

just hope there mum comes back, they make fun pets Dave ,we hatched a load at school for the kids to see it was amazing mate

Keep them warm and bring them inside in a box and feed then really small crumbed digestive biscuits.
Make sure mum has gone and isn't just round the corner and call the RSPB.

I've got some squatters as well, right on top of my drawers on the work bench!

4 weeks ago, sitting on eggs.. no fear...



Now, theres no feeding these lot, mam and dad are backwards and forwards with gobs full of worms, we leave bread, sultanas and apple cores that vanish instantly!

I don't think processed food is very good for ducks, certainly bread is not a healthy food and I suspect biscuits might not be ideal.

If they are hungry you can feed duckings with chopped up hard boiled egg or scrambled egg which will provide the protein they need but not as a long term diet.

Two baby call ducks, hatched wednesday. Been living in a box indoors with a heat lamp. Mum is our pet duck, but she wasnt interested in them, they're doing fine though. Phone rspb first of all, then find where you can get chick crumbs. They'll eat most things, meal worms, lettuce, mashed up boiled eggs. You'll get meal worms in a garden centre. My local has chicken supplies too, so you might be lucky.

RSPB will keep you right.

You end up keeping them and raising them yourself, they're lovely friendly beasts
They'll come over to see you when you go out, eat out your hands, and if they fly away, then you'll have done a good job and made them happy to take on the world alone

They found there own way back to the pond and happily fed on the pond plants, checked an hour ago and no sign, hopefully mum came for them, why she left them in the first place beats me.

I raised a duckling once. It used to crawl under my collar and sleep on my shoulder. It would 'tweet' when i walked away from it too.

From memory, i fed it on seed and bread without too many problems. It did poo everywhere tho!!

I put a carrier bag round it, knocked it off, into a bucket of water and 3 bricks on top!

Dont mind having wildlife but wasps? Nee good for nowt the knarrs..

Heres mam with the chicks tea... she's doesnt seem to mind me being close where as dad buggers off sharpish!

We had a wasp nest like that a few years ago. I went out in the dark with a carrier bag, pulled it down and dropped it in the dustbin with the top tied. I hate wasps.

We get a lot of Ducklings at work and having spoken to the RSPCA & RSPB they aren't keen to get involved if their Mum is still around.
However if Mum decides to leg it they will come and collect the Ducklings.

Just keep them safe from the Bloody Magpies who will pick them off if they get chance

Got attacked by mum yesterday just find one of the chicks running around the lawn.. 2 have flown off now, the other 2 are having the time of their lives in the nest while dad brings gobfull after gobfull of worms.. they are bigger than sparrows now and have all their feathers..

It won't be long till I get me bench back
