JoelP - 6/4/05 at 09:57 PM

anyone tell what this is (was)?

saw it down the scrapyard today.

JoelP - 6/4/05 at 09:58 PM

oops, 'scuse the size...

clbarclay - 6/4/05 at 10:15 PM

I think some of the components on that car might be a bit suspect for use as a donor.

subk2002 - 6/4/05 at 10:17 PM

Which one top or bottom

Chris_R - 6/4/05 at 10:20 PM

Clio Williams or a Scooby?

phelpsa - 6/4/05 at 10:21 PM

4-stud high offset wheels, twin-cam transverse engine, so its relatively modern. Maybe a vauxhall astra or ford focus??

Just a guess

bob - 6/4/05 at 10:23 PM

looks like a rover after a 10 mph shunt

mangogrooveworkshop - 6/4/05 at 10:56 PM

Scooby

phelpsa - 6/4/05 at 11:00 PM

Scooby's have 5-stud wheels! They are compomotive MOs so it could be any car really.

First thing that entered my head was renault.

edit : it seems to have a plastic front wing (whats left of it) so i'd say its of the 16v clio variety - possibly a 2.0l sport or williams.

I agree with the guess on the Renault Williams Clio.

Is obviously 16V twin cam (Not Boxter), FWD and a blue colour with Gold wheels.

We see every other engine on here other than the 16V Renault engine so you can rule out Zetec, Duratec, Vauxhaull 4age etc.

p.s. is that yellow thing in the bottom left hand corner a Crook lock? Strange place to keep it, shouldn't imagine anybody would want 2 pinch that!

chunkielad - 7/4/05 at 12:40 AM

Looks like Clio Williams to me too

DaveFJ - 7/4/05 at 07:55 AM

comparing the two piccies - the engine oil filler cap swings it for me... you Clio williams

Peteff - 7/4/05 at 11:49 AM

There's a glimpse of a crooklock in there as well

Benzine - 7/4/05 at 11:52 AM

Renault espace or a volvo

MikeR - 7/4/05 at 12:17 PM

so come on, what is it?

I was thinking mitsu evo - just cause it looks like its got a little bit of flared wing left.

Chris Green - 7/4/05 at 12:22 PM

it is either a clio 1.8 16v, or a clio williams.

Definitely an F7P (1.8 16v), or a F7R (Williams 2.0) Engine.

I've got one in my Garage (an F7P)

The other cars that that engine is used in, is the megane 2.0 16v, and the Renault 19 16v (which has the F7P engine).

It doesn't look like either of those, so my guess it that its a Clio 1.8 16v.

It is unlikely that someone would have put those wheels on a williams. (Most williams owners are purists).

Just my thoughts.

Chris.

Chris Green - 7/4/05 at 12:23 PM

after further inspection, it is definitely a Clio.

They are the only car to have the F7 engine fitted, that has fibreglass wings. You can see the wings in the photo's.

Also, the Renault 19 has a different inlet manifold to that.

Chris Green - 7/4/05 at 12:24 PM

oh, and thirdly, the car on the bottom is the same too, you can tell by the wing mirror, door, and plastic grille below the screen.

Was the picture taken at infinicar?

Danozeman - 7/4/05 at 06:11 PM

Definatley a clio of some description but i bet we are all wrong.

Im also thinking pugot.

Chris Green - 7/4/05 at 07:22 PM

nope, we aren't wrong.

It is definitely a clio 16v, or williams. They have the same bodyshell, with fibreglass front wings.

I had a clio 1.8 16v for a few years, and swapped the engine in it, I recognise all the hoses and wiring loom!

I'm positive, I would put money on it!
