Steering Column

Do i need a collapsable steering column to get my car through its SVA? If so what steering columns are best?

The steering column should be of the collapsible type having two or more offset sections to prevent the column being pushed into the driver"

Most modern cars will be suitable, sierra and Nova are popular.

Thanks Chris, I will have to try and get down to my local breakers tomorrow. I think the one i currently have is from a MK1 or 2 escort if anybody needs one

How much modifying do the steering racks need to fit?

How do I identify if my Sierra column is crushable? It looks different from the pic, in Haynes.
