Temp sensor adapter
prawnabie - 9/11/08 at 08:51 PM

Hi guys,

Im wiring in my acewell and the temp sensor is a 10mm 2 wire jobbie. The engine is a crossflow.

How have you guys put the temp sensor in? Should I try and find an adapter to screw into the head, or put a take off in the top hose?

Thanks

Shaun

Depends where you want to measure the temp really! Either is ok, as long as you remember where it is, as the temp may vary by a few degrees from place to place around the engine.

Remember the coolant in the top hose will not be at engine temperature until the thermostat opens . The hose to the heater from the inlet manifold will be the hottest part of the cooling system. If you don't have a heater its a good idea to fit the hose routed direct to the water pump to aid bleeding etc . I made and fitted an adaptor to my coolant temperature sensor into said hose when I converted to injection.
