I need some help, I took the chassis plate from my sierra donor to the local ford garage to order the metal cover sleeves that go over the drive shaft cv's checked and double checked total of £2.81 each + vat total £13.25 all arrived looked fine. When I checked them they were too small in diameter.In the meantime I had cut the old ones off. So I took them back to order the bigger ones hey are available and in stock, only prob is they want £30.20 each £125 per set. I have told them it must be an admin error i.e. the decimal place in the wrong place i.e. £3.02p each any ideas???? Kev

Have you tried ringing a few local motor factors?? What model is the donor? Some of the "better models may well be at a premium - be surprised at that much of a difference though.

They actually measure about 78mm dia. on the list at polar ford they show 2 47mm and 52mm these dias I think relate to shoulder where the boot fits on. Its the 52mm ones I have ordered to try them but they had better sort the decimal point out!

i bought some a few weeks (2 months max) ago from ford for 10 pounds each(ish). That was steel 'cup' and rubber boot + grease.

are you sure you're not getting cosworth parts or something?

I m pleased its just not me that thinks its an error. The bits are for the right car dont suppose you know what size you got and or part numbers??

I have some infront of me.

83 mm where it fits on the drive shaft
60mm where the boot fits.
46mm long

If this is what you want i can give you the part number.

mine are 78mm dia where they fit the joint about 45mm long and about 56mm where the boot fits over my ford dealer has been very "good" stating they can do them at £28.00 each!!!!! they gave me part numbers of 6476495 or 89bg4k240ba any help would be appreciated
