Does anyone have any advice or guidance on which coil pack to use with a 1.8 cvh with megajolt?? I have one from a BMW which works but I dont know what the connections are anyway, is there one thats better to use than the rest ? or does anyone have a spare for sale? IDEAS???? Kev
ford ones are the easiest i think. all the wiring diagrams i've ever seen are for the ford ones i think, assuming its the edis you're using
I bought a new, boxed, Ford early-design coil (made by QEH, IIRC) for £30 in March this year.
I realised afterwards that the later design would be a better fit for my Vauxhall leads.
If it's of any use to you, I'd be happy to sell it - it's never been used.
easy - the early ford coilpack is the one that was fitted to loads of CVH's in the factory
so the leads you'd need would be the standard 1.3 / 1.6 ones from an early 90's escort/ fiesta (these also suit all the older engines that
don't have rubber boots on the plug leads)

Don't forget you need the EDIS unit too, all the megajolt does is control advance and retard depending on engine conditions.
If using the EDIS unit to provide the coil driving (and Megajolt to change the timing), then you need to use the Ford coil pack - as its electrical characteristics are matched to the EDIS unit. If your HT leads are not long enough, custom length ones are availble these days with Ford coil pack ends easily - I think Magencor do them.
