will a type 9 box fit onto the ford 2 litre dohc motor?
will i need to change the flywheel, clutch
(converting an auto to manual)
do you have the correct bellhousing?
i'm assuming the type 9 bellhousing fits as ford kept the same pattern.
i'm more concerned with which clutch & flywheel.
there are 2 common patterns: 4cly and V6 (2.8/2.9)
and the diesel ones are different again
also there are long and short input shafts
(a box from a 2.0 pinto will have a short shaft, one from a V6 or diesel will have a long one)

I found this pic of the 4cly and V6 patterns (they are MT75 boxes but you get the idea)
left is the V6 with the narrow top, right is 4cyl
I seem to remember there being an issue with the length of the input shafts / bellhousings when you fit an MT75 to a pinto (I think a spacer was
needed - but I might be getting mixed up with x-flows :? )
(btw - I like the new avitar Mr Whippy
)

The fly wheel and clutch are huge on the Dohc, infact when putting the mt75 on say a zetec you need a 20mm longer thrust bearing.
To get it to work you will need a fly wheel that fits in the bell housing and gives room for the clutch and bearing ect.
