Polo radiator fan control fitting?
vinny1275 - 2/12/08 at 09:46 PM

Hi guys,

I just measured up the threaded bit in the Polo rad to see what size fan controller would fit in there, and it's a 20mm by 1.5 thread - is this an M22 size? that seems to be the most common controller fitting size...

Thanks,

Vince

I had a similar problem about a year ago of looking for a plug for the fan controller hole in a VW pattern radiator. I can't remember whether mine is a Polo or Golf pattern but the hole size sounds familiar. I couldn't find an appropriate bolt but found a locost solution in the form of a fan switch from a Mk2 Fiesta XR2 - I think. about £5 off the shelf.

Any motor factors should be able to supply you with the switch cheap enough.

There's quite a lot that fit - mine is Sierra Cosworth 7? degree so Ford and VW use them at least.
