Hi guys,
I'm about to buy this, will it bolt onto my type 9?
Any reasons why I shouldnt?

It should bolt up ok, but I doubt it would handle the power?
hmm seems a bit pricey for a bare block IMO, by the time you have added all the bits to get it to run it will come to quite a bit. Whats the mileage? I'd want a bit more proof than his assurances it’s in good working order as these engines get thrashed to death
I've emailed him asking for his number so I can get that info as you suggest Mr Whippy. I'll have a chat to him and go from there.
The standard Cosworth flywheel will not fit inside an RS2000/Pinto type bellhousing. The larger bellhousing that fits the Cosworth may give you
problems with clearance if you take that route.
I ran a YB in the Phoenix and had an aftermarket 9 hole flywheel that did fit my RS2000 bellhousing.
I do have in stock and for sale a very lightened flywheel c/w twin plate sintered clutch that will also fit the above set-up.
Please drop me a U2U if this is of interest.
As far as the price is concerned, YBs are getting scarce and I would have thought that £1000 is quite reasonable.

Agree with Whippy... overpriced and the ad doesn't inspire me with confidence.
Remember that the YB is getting on a bit now. The only attraction for me is that it's assosciated with the name 'cosworth'.
I think you could do a lot better for the money.
If I'm not mistaken he appears to also be selling the gearbox too, not cheap either though
Seems when you go though his ads he's breaking up a car for some reason, don't know why
For far less money and if you want comparative performance then dare I say it fit a bike engine...gasp can’t believe I said that

cheers for the experienced heads up guys.
I'm being lazy trying to find an engine to go into my pinto chassis but after a quick call to dax it appears the red top vauxhall im planning on
putting in doesnt need any chassis modification either!
£1000 + manifolds (not included in the sale) and a gearbox....let's say close to £2000 installed and running.
You could have a very well sorted Zetec or even Duratec set-up for that kind of money. Unless you have an emmotional reason for going YB and/or turbo
then I can't see that it makes sense.
