I had decided after reading tons of forums that the VVT on my ST install was to be activated at 4K rpm by the change light output on my Megajolt.

Now theres a spanner in the works in the form of the supply voltage. Some dude on a Focus forum reckons the voltage to the solenoid is 5V.

I assumed it would be 12v but now I'm not sure....

Anyone got a Ford TIS cd for the Focus can see if it is detailed on there?

OR, has anyone done this already can tell me the way to go?

according to my TIS (2002-2004 focus) its 12v and is fed +ve from pwr relay and earthed by ecu when activated.

Thanks Will, just the job.. live feed and ECU earth due to common feed from the relay.

I wonder... should I use the change light off the MJ to switch a relay..... may be worth it to protest the MJ seeign as theres a meaty 20amp fuse there.

yep i would definately use a relay, i doubt the MJ is designed for anything more than a warning lamp.

are you using carbs?

Yep, ZX9R carbs, I have some throttle bodies to dabble with so may be upgrading to EFI soon.

Carbs it is for the mo tho.....
