RS2000 sump depth?
Xtreme Kermit - 2/3/09 at 07:12 PM

Does anyone know what the depth of an alloy sump from an rs2000 is?

I have a shortened sump which is not baffeld and has reduced capacity

I am thinking of picking up an ally sump but am worried about the depth. Mine is level with the bottom of the bellhousing.

Will the ally one be the same depth?

Mine has a shortened std sump with no extra capacity or baffling and its been fine for 5k miles...

rs2000 ally sump sits approximately an inch lower than the bottom of the type9 bellhousing

Maybe mine is cut differently. I get oil pressure dropping going round roundabouts unless I fill to above the max mark - and I don't think that is a good idea... aeration etc.

Fair enough, does sound like you have a problem though!

The ali sumps are ok, but quite a lot of the second hand ones are cracked/repaired.

Burton power are selling brand new ones now though....

Thanks Grimsdale - this is really useful as my sump is not only level with the sump but also the floor panels. If I put one of these in it sounds like I would take an inch off my ground clearance
