running a busa i need a swirl pot as i had some fueling probs on sat. dont want to swap the tank so swirl pot it is. how big does it need to be to
sustain high speed cornering like at rockingham on half the ovel at over 100.
many thanks rob
Most are about a litre or so...
If you've got a seriously over-spec'd HP pump you'll need a bigger swirl pot (one good reason for not over-spec'ing the HP
pump).
If you're returning the fuel line return to the swirl it's quite easy to work out how big a swirl pot you need.
Use your MPG and average MPH on (for example) Rockingham to work out a litres / second. Then multiple that by your longest corner in seconds to work
out your required size swirl pot for given duration.
Of course if you return the fuel rail return to the tank this doesn't work. Then you really need to base your answer on the rating of the HP fuel
pump....
its standard busa pump. with a smaller low pressure pump to lift it to the fuel rail.
