Mr SVA did not like the amount of oil that my reverse box was chucking out so I have bought a breather bottle.

I just want to check if the bottle has to be mounted below the outlet or can it be higher (no instructions with package)

It can be higher. In fact it is preferable that it is higher so that some of the oil drips back from the tube. Also, make sure you return the oil to the reverse box fairly regularly. I'm told they die fairly quickly if you don't.
