Major Stare - 24/3/09 at 08:14 PM

Guys,

I need to remove the bell housing off my Type 9 gearbox.

2 of the bolts are behind the clutch release arm, how do i remove this?

Give the arm a sharp tug. or remove bearing first or pull the arm sideways off the pivot pin then slide off the nose.

cant work out how to get the bearing off. Cant get the arm away from the pivot pin.

there is a small clip on the back of the bearing that you push in and then slide the bearing off, then remove the clutch arm, then undo your bolts

Bearing should come off the arm with a little leverage

As above - you need to release the sprung clip on the rear of the bearing first and then the arm will literally drop off.

You can see the sprung clip on the left here

Cheers, a bit of brute force and its sorted

be careful not to damage the clip on the back of the bearing if you break it off the bearing is free to move on the shaft without any securement.
