Identify me a camshaft (ford cvh)

Trying to work our what cam shaft i have in what i beleive is a 1.9 cvh (1600 block and head).

So if these marks mean anything to anyone?

don't know about chv but on pinto cam shafts the identification marks are on the back of the shaft

Got a reply back today:

"[Its a] SX428C

Duration: 280deg
Valve lift: 0.495"/12.57mm inlet & exhaust
Timing: 34-66 inlet 66-34 exhaust
Full lift: 106deg ATDC inlet

I might be able to give you more info on the engine if you can give me the engine number"

Result, going to reply with the engine number and see if maybe i cant find out more about the other work on the engine too if it was done by them.

Thats a massive amount of lift, and my guess is you may even need cut out's in the pistons.

That spec indicates a full on race cam....Usually not that useful unless the head has had some porting work done.....So you may well have a high spec engine....

Do you have double valve springs, and are the tapits hydraulic or solid?....

It does have double valve springs.
- Although i dont know how to identify solid or hydrolic lifters without removing them (which i havnt).

Ive replied with the engine number in the hope that they may have records of work done on the engine if it was indeed done by them which would be insteresting.

But as you, it is indeed a fair bit of lift (compairing it to kentcams cams, which i have the pdf of) so as you say, who knows what else has been done.
- That said, obvisouly if it is a 1.9 cvh (1600 block) as i was sold it is (without paperwork, but also without reason to suspect otherwise) then it would make sence that it had had enough headwork to be able to make use of the work on the lower end.

The engine is now available, if anyone is interested in it.

Unfortunately it dropped an exhaust valve, so one piston and I expect the head is a write off, however the block would likely live again as it only has very mild damage, all other parts available.

Never did get a reply from Power Engineer!

Only after scrap value for it.
