gunk is good

dhutch - 4/5/09 at 01:30 PM

Are you planning to paint it or somthing? Steel block?

Use jizer/gunk for everything i ever degrease outside of carbs/brakes.
- Spray on, work with paintbrush, rinse with water.

Although the CVH block is steel, so like the chassis, i dont really consider the oil to harm it more do it good!

Good ol' paraffin and lots of old paint brushes works for me.

I normally go for a bottle of white spirit...

Oh - for cleaning engines? White spirit and a cheap paintbrush with half the bristles cut off the length. The "5 for £1" ones from the local pound shop - and can probably get the white spirit from there too. Total cost = £2..

hot water with full biological powder works well too

edit to think
hmmm how about the dishwasher with bio washing powder, got to be a winner

almost worth buying an "outdoors dishwasher for a £10er
