Hi, anybody got any pics of how and where they mounted the alternator (and which alternator) on an XE. Ive found a bracket in my spares box but i dont think its off this engine. Is it a case of fabricating a bracket to suit or is there a standard one that puts it in a good position. Thanks

do you want a pic of the standard mounting? I have taken mine off ready for painting, but it would only take a mo to replace it and photo it for you if you want?

Look in my archive, ive just added some pics, they are under Alt brackets 1,2,3 and 4
Mine is the standard alt and bracket and fits nicely under the carbs

Tom - you are confusing the standard bracket with the standard 'BLING' bracket.

thanks for the offer is it different to toms bracket? that's definitely not what I have, no wonder I can't make it fit. have you changed it to a multi v pulley too? mines just a single v. how has your steering link cleared it if its on the drivers side? i can't quite tell from the pics sorry, im having to use my phone to look until I get home. thanks

Took some pics of mine (non - bling standard brackets). I didn't fit the alternator - I think you can see better without.

Thats what ive got, but im missing the bottom mount. Do you still have plenty of room for the steering link with it on drivers side

sorry, Can't answer that at the present time - engine not fitted yet - still modifying chassis (see my post under Luego etc).

Ah i see the problems your having too, if you still need that photo by the weekend, remind me ill nip out and take one, but im a bit too ill at the mo, on my day off too
