hi everyone,
just wunder if you can rip off the injection system of a EFI pinto and put a Standard pinto carb on it. any help help much appreciated.

Yes but the inlet ports are a different shape so make sure all the hole is covered by the manifold and gasket.

yours, Pete.

Not too difficult. As Pete said, as the injection manifold ports are a different shape, you need to make sure that you plug the holes. There was a "DEBATE" a while back about this, but as usual, there was expert opinion on both sides, so just do what works for you. I used an electric fuel pump, but I believe that you can still use a mechanical one with 40's. I can't give you any advice on jetting etc, as while I have been able to get my engine running, I've yet to get to a point where I need to worry about emissions etc. Once I've finally passed SVA, I plan to swap the Pinto for a 3SGE, and no doubt that'll take me another three years!!
