I'm having trouble finding the engine number on my Ford 1300 GT Crossflow engine - I know I found it once but it's in the car & all plumbed now and seems to have disappeared - hopefully not behind the engine mounts etc. Any ideas???

Also, if it's ever been skimmed by a reputable shop, the number may be found on one of the gearbox mounting lugs.
