looks like a sohc pinto with a 205 block from an injection sierra. what other info did you want?!
the 205 block is stronger than the normal block and can cope with a 16v head. some people bolt a yb turbo head to the 205 block and set it up to run
naturally aspirated.
Ned.
ah could it be off a granada? Just interested.
most likely a sierra. i didn't think/know that granada's had pinto's in em. suppose old ones might do.
could be a tranny engine? i'm no pinto expert, but believe they have a lower compression ratio for higher torque in a tranny.
Ned.
I would suspect the granada did have pinto in - I dont have my book here or would get proof.
My reasoning is that a 2 litre granada existed (also a 1.8 at one time) prior to 1989 when the DOHC came in common use. By default I suspect it was a
pinto...... 1.8 coulda been a cvh, but i digress

Ned.
Mk1 and Mk2 Grandads had Pinto engines. We used to use a 2.0 estate ages ago, very useful motor, much more comfort than a van.
My 205 block Pinto is out of a MK3 Granada, E- reg. They changed to DOHC at H reg.

Your engine is a February 1990, the only part of the finis code I know how to 'decipher' is the 85 bit. I means that tha casting was first
used in 1985.
If you contact ford (local dealer) with the engine number (LY12345) they can even give you the reg of the car it came from if you speak to them nicely
Ta, will av' a go.
