R1 can - what do I do now ????

ok, so won an R1 can on ebay with intention of replacing my existing can. 
Am I right in thinking the stainless(?) rivets hold the aluminium end caps on?
So drilling them will allow me to rotate the caps?
My exhaust is 50 mm but the R1 is 60 mm so ideally, I would like to get a length of stainless pipe, put in a small kick and then attach this to the
can - is that possible?
I assume I can cut off the 60 mm pipe, weld the new pipe and have it covered by the aluminium end cap in case my welding doesn't look too
smart.?
Finally the support bracket is held to the can by 1 rivet - again this rivet can be removed so I can use my existing support?

Yes, end caps come of with the rivets. inlet is stainless and the oulet in mild steel.
I took the end caps of, cut the inlet and outlet and welded on new stainless pipes both ends.

The R1 carbon can does not flow very well, the gases go through two 180 degree turns inside...
I have one in the garage that I've cut about to try and improve it.

Should be adequate for a 1.6 crossflow unless it's been heavily tweaked. That said I bought a ZX12 can for mine.

I've modified a few R1 cans and make an adapter that fits inside the R1 inlet, tig weld this in place. The other end of the adapter is made so
that 2" o/d pipe is a snug slide in fit
