Hi,I have a 1.8 ohc pinto but looking at all the gubbins comes with the electronic module which plugs onto dist.with 3 pins would I be better to swap dist. for earlier points type and chuck away module -what problems may I encounter,would there be any redundant sensors that must be connected etc? I have been offered mk.5 cortina dist.anyone know if this would do??Thanks Mike.

from what i remeber of the elec drawing in my sierra manual, that system is a simple electronics points replacement system. Look in a haynes manual and you will see its pretty easy to wire up.

Why would you want to take a backward step and go back to a points system?

OK then,take the point-can anyone tell me how to use the ecu2 ignition module to get this thing running-simply please.The module has a 12 wire plug into it and I believe I only need to use about 6 but which 6 and what about the 2 relays attached??Colours?? thanks mike.

There is another system fitted that has a dizzy and a coil,thats all!thats the one to get,coils are all the same just need dizzy with amp built in
