Hey up fellas, lolocost do a 4 to 1 manifold kit for a pinto about 50 squids has anyone bought one of these and are they any good or are we talking
about normal lolocost quality ie non existant.
I know custom chrome do one but getting a price out of them is like plaitting snot.
Cheers,
Bob
Have ghot one of thier manifolds for my cross flow powered car, not impressed at all , had to reweld manifold flange to pipes in several places as the quility??? of welding left a lot to be desired. as for stainless it's now showing signs of rusting, car is not yet on road so it hasn't been used a great deal. Rusty
Rusty,
I totally disagree. I've got a lolocost manifold for my car. The flange is not stainless and was never claimed to be (certainly when I enquired
they told me so). Mine has neat and tidy welding for what is a pretty complex shape to keep the primarys the same length. I've had absolutely no
problems with it. It was purchased last June and the car is now on the road showing no signs of cracking or blowing.
Have you stressed your manifold or bent it to try and get it to fit?
Having said that it I wasn't expecting much for the money I paid but was pleasantly suprised. If you want out and out quality you won't get
it from a subsidiary trading as 'lolocost' will you??
Cheers
Perhaps lolocost have more than one welder?
FYI stainles steel used in exhausts goes a rusty colour. A high quality stainless is too brittle and will crack.
I have been using a lolocost exhaust on a crossflow for over a year with no problems what so over. Fair enough it might not be the best quality in the
world but for 50 quid.
I have now chopped off the manifold and welded a new one on for the zetec to get me on the road and I still think that is is a very good manifold.
As for the discolouration this is normal for any stainless exhaust unless you constantly polish it.
I am considering a Tony Law system albiet for race locost any one used them or alternative? it is 300 quid plus var & tar
Anybody who's got a Lolo one reckon I could get away with chopping the flange off, adding 2" onto each pipe then welding the flange back
on?
It's for my +4" car.
Cheers,
James
hold on, 50 quid, they advertise them at nearly a 100 quid on the web site. When did Rory do them for 50??????
Look again, last page on the price list also in the new catalogue £50 pinto manifold in kit form.
After copping an eye over the other thread re pipe bending its gotta be worth it lifes too short !!!
Cheers,
Bob
If it's in component form and the weldings crap you can only blame yourself. I agree with Stu, I've had lolo stuff and as long as you know what you want you are o.k. I've had brackets and joints from them and they are up to the job. Exhaust stainless is not like cutlery, it does oxidise on the surface but that seems to happen to expensive systems as well. If you want top stuff you pay top money.
ah, i assumed it was pinto and crossflow, the only crossflow i could find was a 100 quid
